NHK WORLD-JAPAN’s One in Every Japanese is a short-form documentary series that explores the diversity of life in Japan through statistics, field reporting, and human stories. Built around the idea that a single number can open a window into an overlooked part of society, each five-minute episode highlights a specific group or social reality, with subjects ranging from foreign residents and people without smartphones to men who took parental leave.

We directed the English voice-over for the TV spots, helping shape the tone and delivery for an international audience. The project demanded clarity, restraint, and a strong sense of rhythm, matching NHK’s editorial style while supporting a series built on concise storytelling and sharply observed social detail.
